Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Eastwood Park, a female prison based in South Gloucestershire. The site is located close to the M5 for commuters and is easily accessible from both Bristol and Gloucester. HMP Eastwood Park houses around 442 patients aged 18‑76. This role would suit a General Practitioner who is interested in delivering end‑to‑end care and has a particular interest in either long‑term conditions, sexual health, or substance misuse. Within this role you will be working with a highly staffed multidisciplinary team providing medical leadership and expert advice.
Hours: Friday 17:00‑21:00. This is a part‑time role working 4 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Assess patients face to face, responding to their medical issues, including diagnosis, investigation and treatment.
* Regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptions.
* Provide medical leadership and expert advice regarding medical and primary care issues to the wider healthcare team.

Qualifications
* MBChB or MBBS
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications

Benefits
