Head of Facilities (Operations)

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Head of Facilities to join our professional team.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the operational management, professional leadership and engagement for the quality management and compliance service. You governance for all the teams within your portfolio. You will drive forward the strategic development of quality and compliance in order to ensure they remain efficient, effective and responsive as a whole utilising integrated working across the public health services within KCHFT and our partners.

Job responsibilities

As a community Trust, many of our roles require individuals to be able to drive to perform their duties. It is important to us that all our staff are aligned to our Values and in particular the behaviours we expect from KCHFT managers. With this in mind as part of the selection process for this position you will be asked to complete two other activities in addition to the competency-based interview that you will be invited to. This extended selection process is designed to assess your management style and the specific details of the exercises will be given if you are successfully shortlisted. The provisional date of the selection event is 30th March, although this may be subject to change.


Person Specification


Qualification

* master's degree level or equivalent in Facilities Management, Estates Management, Business Administration, or a related field.


Knowledge and Skills

* understanding of National Service Frameworks, statutory reporting and legal requirements relevant to care setting
* Lead the annual PLACE assessment across all sites, managing logistics, stakeholder engagement and patient feedback, including handling sensitive or contentious issues


Experience

* Lead and manage the delivery of FM services (maintenance, cleaning, catering, transport, waste, reception, security).
* Lead on tendering processes, contract negotiations and supplier relationship management.
