What You'll Do

As a Legal Assistant you will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to supporting our clients through visa processing. Key responsibilities include:

· Performing various administrative duties, such as setting up new clients/matters, drafting communicating with clients, drafting and responding to correspondence, and managing filing tasks.

· Effectively utilising the legal practice management software accurately and efficiently for document management, time logging, and other administrative tasks.

· Assist in preparing visa applications, drafting advice and support letters to clients and US consular posts.

* Collaborate with clients and attorneys to gather required documentation for visa applications.
* Schedule visa interview appointments at US consulates or embassies in the individual's home country.
* Provide support in reviewing and organising additional documentation as required for visa applications.
* Assist in preparing adjustment of status applications for individuals eligible to adjust status to lawful permanent residents.
* Collaborate with clients and attorneys to compile necessary forms and supporting documents for adjustment of status applications.
* Maintain communication with USCIS regarding the status of adjustment of status applications and any requests for additional information.
* Ensure timely submission of adjustment of status applications and adherence to filing deadlines.
* Coordinate consular processing procedures for individuals outside the United States whose petitions were approved through consular processing.
* Schedule and organise interview appointments at US consulates or embassies for consular processing applicants.
* Prepare individuals for consular interviews and provide guidance on required documentation and interview procedures.
* Facilitate communication between clients, attorneys, and consular officers during the consular processing phase.
* Assist in tracking and monitoring the progress of visa issuance for approved petitions.
* Ensure timely receipt and distribution of visas or approval notices (Form I-797) to clients.
* Coordinate with clients and attorneys to arrange for the delivery of visas or approval notices to individuals outside the United States.
* Reviewing and monitoring changes in legislation, regulations, guidance, and practice related to US immigration law.

Desired Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. In addition, you will have:

* At least 12 months' experience in a fast-paced administrative and client-facing environment, including regular client interaction via email.
* Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and consistency in all documentation and client communications.
* Strong organisational skills, with the capability to effectively manage and analyse material, including supporting documents provided by clients, files transferred from other firms, and correspondence and documentation from various government entities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to correspond with clients via email to gather necessary information for their cases, engage with individuals effectively, and draft and respond to correspondence professionally.
* Exceptional time management skills and the capability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assignments.
* Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other core applications, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to legal practice management software for document management, time logging, and related administrative tasks.
