Nottinghamshire County Council is further developing all-age ways of working in Social Work Community Teams. Permanent Advanced Social Work Practitioner vacancies have arisen across our North, Mid, and South districts of the county, as well as within our Urgent and Emergency Care Teams in all areas.
We are looking for dynamic staff with relevant knowledge, skills, and expertise in all areas of Social Work practice and hospital discharge.
You will join a Social Work Community Team or a Hospital Team. You will develop as a practice lead, supporting the Team Manager to implement change and embed new ways of working. A passion for Social Work and the ability to enable effective integrated working with partners, promoting independence through reablement and enablement approaches, are essential. You will supervise and mentor staff and be responsible for managing a small, complex caseload of mixed priorities. Experience in safeguarding vulnerable people and acting as a safeguarding manager for your supervisees is required.
Using strength-based approaches, you will promote the principles of choice and control, personalisation, and self-directed support, enabling people and their caregivers to assess and manage their own needs, risks, and uncertainties. You will collaborate with other Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Community Care Officers in a fast-paced team environment.
Nottinghamshire County Council values its employees and is committed to their growth and well-being. We are dedicated to enhancing the cultural priorities of Adult Social Care, fostering a positive and inclusive environment. In return, we offer a supportive team environment with access to professional development opportunities to advance your career and meet your ongoing professional development needs. You will receive regular supervision, both formal and informal, and be supported to develop your skills within practice.
Applicants must have a Social Work Qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Candidates may be an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP), a Best Interests Assessor (BIA), or a Practice Educator (Level 2). Knowledge and experience of safeguarding adults within multi-agency procedures, along with staff supervision, training, and development experience, are essential. A full driver’s license and access to a car for work are required.
Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts, both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. Nottinghamshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and all staff are expected to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
