An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Transport Projects & Programmes team within the Environment and Transport Department.
The successful applicant will join a motivated, friendly team of professionals committed to delivering public sector highway projects and programmes that offer best value for money.
About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager position will support Project Managers and the Senior Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and delivering various highway projects by handling day-to-day tasks such as developing project documentation, assisting in tracking project progress against timelines and budgets, assisting with risk management, project reporting and quality assurance.
About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
1. A relevant qualification and/or demonstrable experience commensurate with the role.
2. Experience of working in a Highway engineering setting, in relation to design, management, maintenance or administrative processes.
3. Experience of maintaining effective partnerships and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders which can include statutory, voluntary, private agencies and communities.
4. Experience of working to tight timescales to deliver projects and/or programmes on time, to quality and cost.
5. A good understanding of the principles of Prince2 Project Management.
6. Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
7. A customer focused approach where the customer experience is central to the delivery of the service.
