Are you an experienced Senior Design Engineer with a strong background in design, engineering or technical consultancy, ready to lead innovative projects from concept to delivery? Job Overview: We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer who will be a key member of the Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design team, to develop creative solutions to exciting design and engineering challenges across different industries. As a Senior Design Engineer you will use your knowledge and experience in engineering or design to provide creative yet realistic technical contributions, whilst also working with the directors and client to engender project success, with levels of involvement ranging from technical lead, to hands-on designer, contributor and reviewer. You will have in depth knowledge of engineering principles, practices and manufacturing processes and a good understanding of aesthetic design, usability and design for manufacture to enable you to design products to stringent performance, cost, assembly and manufacturing requirements. Having excellent time management skills will enable you to balance your workload over multiple projects and deliver work to tight timescales. Ideally you will have experience of an ISO 13485 quality management system that encompasses document issue and revision control. The successful applicant will have a proven track record over a range of projects where they have demonstrated exceptional engineering skills covering concept creation, numerical analysis, risk analysis, CAD development, practical modelling, testing, submission to manufacture and verification. Experience and Personal Attributes: We welcome applicants with the following: 1. A good 2:1 or above honour’s degree in mechanical design, industrial design, product design, engineering or equivalent. 2. Considered application of core mechanical engineering. 3. Evidence of designing creative solutions to complex design challenges with requirements and restrictions associated with performance, usability, environment, materials, space, weight, cost, traceability and documentation. 4. Applied experience of 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, for solid and surface modelling, simulation, engineering drawings and data management. You will also have a high level of competency with MS Office Software, and other design. 5. A proven track record in design for assembly, disassembly and efficient transfer to low, mid or high volume manufacture. 6.
