A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a paralegal to join AK Solicitors’ busy specialist family team in Basildon & Southend, Essex.
We deliver the highest quality advice and representation across both offices in a broad range of family work. We have a position available for a graduate seeking a full-time role.Applicants must have a genuine interest in legal aid and family law.They should also possess a caring and compassionate attitude as well as having the aptitude to work under direction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primarily, to assist all fee earners with administration and to carry out junior level fee earning tasks.This includes but is not limited to:
* Deal with new client enquiries.
* Draft applications to be submitted at court.
* Liaise with clients, counsel, the Legal Aid Agency and the court.
* Prepare, manage and organise bundles for court hearings.
* Assess clients means and merits for public funding.
* Correspond with clients in a professional manner.
* Record all work accurately and appropriately on the firm’s case management system.
* Cover reception as required.
* General ad hoc administrative tasks when required.
* Liaise at all times with the supervising fee earner.
* Maintain professional standards of work and comply with external and internal policies as set out in the office manual.
Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, good time management skills and excellent IT skills.
