CONSULTANT ANAESTHETIST – FIXED TERM 6 Months
Applications are welcome for the above fixed term post based at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
We are looking to appoint a Consultant Anaesthetist to complement a department of over 40 people in a busy District General Hospital.
Scope of Practice We provide anaesthesia for a wide range of specialty surgery including:
Robotics
General Surgery
Breast
ENT
Maxillofacial
Obstetrics
Gynaecology (general and oncology)
Trauma and Orthopaedics
Ophthalmology
Paediatrics
Day surgery is performed at a stand‑alone unit in Dunfermline. We also provide support to an on site National Treatment Centre for elective Orthopaedic work.
Qualifications The successful candidate will have a medical post graduate qualification (e.g. FRCA, MRCP, FFICM).
Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a licence to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non‑UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training to the knowledge, skills and experience required for practising as an eligible specialist in the UK.
