We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Northern Ireland Management Team. As the lead commercial resource, you will play a pivotal role in managing a portfolio of NIHE & Housing Association contracts exceeding £35 million annually. Supported by a dedicated team consisting of Finance Assistants, Commercial Supervisors, Quantity Surveyors, and Administrators, you will collaborate closely with the Regional Director and the senior management team to provide strategic and contractual guidance for both new and existing contracts.
Key Accountabilities
1. Oversee all commercial aspects of the business, ensuring compliance with company SHEQ policy/strategy and implementing best practices.
2. Take line management responsibility for all Quantity Surveyors within the region, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
3. Financial Strategy Lead the financial strategy during the contract establishment stage, working closely with Quantity Surveyor teams to monitor and manage financial approaches.
4. Profit Maximization Strategically maximize profit potential on operational schemes by conducting regular project reviews with site teams and operational leads, identifying opportunities for increased margins.
5. Establish regional supply chain deals, collaborating with the central procurement department to optimize supplier arrangements and maximize subcontract buying gains.
6. Manage stakeholder relationships with client representatives, EQUANS finance and operational teams, and colleagues from central support functions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
7. Identify and manage financial risks associated with new areas, suppliers, and contract complexities, working closely with operations managers and legal departments to mitigate potential risks.
8. Manage all profitability reporting for the region, ensuring accuracy and robustness of financial reporting, with risks and opportunities identified and discussed with relevant stakeholders on a monthly basis.
9. Manage cash collection and invoicing of accrued income values on a monthly basis, ensuring accurate billing projections and realistic delivery on-site.

10. High level of interpersonal skills (i.e. listening skills)
11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
12. Good understanding of budget forecasting, cashflow and CVR reporting
13. Experienced of managing a small team and is able to demonstrate the ability to develop team members
14. Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and word
Experience
15. Experience of planning, organising and prioritising workload whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy
16. Soft skills encompassing empathy, understanding and listening
17. Knowledge of social housing contracts including responsive repairs, voids, cyclical works and planned works is a must
