Job Purpose / Summary: We are seeking a warehouse supervisor to monitor inventory and manage staff.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and oversee all warehouse logistics
* Supervise and direct warehouse staff; prioritize worker safety
* Track and account for all incoming and outgoing products
* Confirm proper and timely delivery of products
* Perform various inventory counts; order supplies and goods as needed
* Supervise all forklift operations
* Maintain warehouse and machinery, ensuring equipment is serviced and a clean workspace is kept
* Maintain shipping documentation, manifests, and receipts; enter relevant data in reports as needed
* Ensure shipment materials match packing lists before dispatching orders
* Ensure proper transport, packaging, and placement of products
* Abide by and enforce facility rules and state laws and regulations
* Improve warehouse work processes through strategic planning
* Review timeliness of scheduled deliveries
* Track inventory levels
* Order new supplies in a timely manner
* Make suggestions for productivity improvements
* Determine and track key warehouse KPIs
* Ensure facility equipment is properly maintained
* The Supervisor will also be expected to act up for management to cover leave and absence
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
* Motivate and lead warehouse staff to carry out given tasks
* Assist in hiring and training new warehouse staff
* Improve processes
* Optimize employee workflow
* Communicate and collaborate with other team members
* Train, guide and evaluate new warehouse workers
* Participate in grievance and disciplinary hearings
* Monitor performance and absence; conduct return to work and welfare meetings
Experience
* Supervisory and Team Leader skills with the ability to motivate, develop and supervise others
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Good IT skills, including spreadsheets and databases and knowledge of warehouse systems
* Analytical and numerical skills
* Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
* Good planning skills and ability to meet targets and deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail skills
* Strong decision making skills
Skills And Qualifications
* GCSEs Level A-C, NVQ Level 2
* An appropriate warehousing qualification would be advantageous
* Certified in: Dangerous Goods Handling
* A supervisory qualification would also be beneficial
* Proven experience as a Warehouse Team Leader with experience of supervising and motivating a team
* A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements
* Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous
* Fork-Lift Truck licence is required
