Vision for Education in Newport is currently recruiting psychology and criminology graduates who are passionate about working with children and young people in an educational setting. These rewarding roles are ideal for those looking to apply their academic background to real-world experiences, supporting learners with a range of additional needs. You will be working with primary-aged pupils who may have learning and behavioural difficulties, often supporting them on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. The aim is to provide emotional and academic support to help pupils engage with learning and thrive in a school environment. Many of the pupils you’ll support have been diagnosed with conditions such as Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Down’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, or SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) needs. As a psychology graduate, you’ll be able to bring insight, patience, and empathy to your work—skills that are valued and essential. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working closely with children who benefit from consistency, structure, and understanding. You’ll learn how to build strong relationships, develop pupil wellbeing plans, and use observation skills to respond effectively to behavioural patterns and learning needs. If you are considering a future in counselling, social work, education, child psychology, or therapeutic roles, this position will provide a valuable foundation. You’ll be implementing techniques and strategies from your degree in a setting where they make a direct impact every day.
