Teaching Assistant for Children with Mental Health Needs – Stroud, Gloucestershire. Immediate Start.
About the role
Academics are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs, trauma and behavioural difficulties at a specialist school in Stroud. Graduates qualified in Psychology or Counselling are excellent fits, but other relevant experience in mental health support or working with children will be considered.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive 1:1 and small group support to promote wellbeing and foster personal development.
* Create and implement tailored individual behaviour plans.
* Support SEN students aged 5 to 16 who have experienced complex developmental trauma and heightened emotional needs and behavioural challenges.
* Be flexible and ready to embrace new challenges to support pupils with complex needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Level 3+ qualifications required; a Degree would be preferred.
* Well suited for graduates in Psychology or Counselling.
* Prior experience with children with mental health needs is advantageous.

* Salary: £85-£100 per day
* Hours: Full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm
