The Marketing Specialist Role
We are looking for a marketing generalist - someone who deliberately enjoys breadth. You want to build range before specialising, or you may choose never to.
This is a mid-level role with significant ownership and visibility.
Ideal Candidate
* Enjoys both strategy and execution
* Can move comfortably between planning, messaging, events, and content
* Thrives in cross-functional environments
* Wants exposure across the full marketing mix
While you’ll contribute across multiple marketing areas, a significant focus will be on Events and Field Marketing - including industry conferences, roundtables, webinars, and Send-hosted events. You will play a critical role in creating high-quality, memorable experiences for prospects and customers.
Insurance industry experience is strongly preferred. You need to understand our audience and be credible in the room.
What You’ll Be Doing as a Marketing Specialist
Strategic Planning
* Develop and implement marketing plans aligned with Send’s commercial growth goals
* Translate business priorities into focused, high-impact initiatives
* Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Customer teams to ensure campaigns land
* Balance long-term brand building with immediate pipeline impact
Events & Field Marketing
Events are a major lever in our go-to-market strategy - and you’ll lead them end to end.
* Plan and deliver in-person and virtual events (industry conferences, roundtables, webinars, Send-hosted events)
* Own logistics: venues, suppliers, budgets, speakers, branding, materials, onsite execution
* Partner with Sales to drive target account attendance
* Create compelling, high-quality event experiences that reflect our brand
* Ensure strong pre-event build-up and disciplined post-event follow-up
* Drive measurable pipeline contribution from field initiatives
* Track performance and pipeline impact
* Work with Sales and Customer Success to convert event engagement into qualified opportunities
Audience Engagement
* Identify and connect with underwriting, operational, and executive insurance audiences
* Craft messaging that resonates with both prospects and customers
* Apply ABM principles to engage priority accounts and key decision-makers (support with tailored programs for priority accounts in your region)
* Develop thought leadership and event-driven content
* Support with the execution of digital campaigns in your region
* Contribute to customer communications and engagement programmes
Market Analysis
* Stay ahead of insurance market trends and competitor activity
* Conduct research to identify growth opportunities
* Feed insights into messaging, positioning, and campaign focus
The Skills and Experience Needed for the Marketing Specialist Role
* 5+ years B2B marketing experience.
* Insurance industry experience (carrier, MGA, broker, reinsurer or insurtech).
* Strong understanding of marketing tools and analytics.
* Ideally, experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub, or other email marketing platforms.
* Confidence building and optimising email journeys and landing pages.
* Familiarity with Account-Based Marketing approaches and tools.
* Experience tracking campaign and pipeline metrics (data-driven mindset – you instinctively ask “what’s working, why, how do we scale it?”).
* Comfortable operating in growing, fast-paced organisations.
Mindset & Attributes
* Generalist by nature — enjoys variety and breadth.
* Willing to roll up sleeves and get stuck in.
* Highly organised and operationally sharp.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
* Energised by ownership and accountability.
* Excited by scale-up pace and ambiguity.
