We are working with housing provider who are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Lead on a 6 month contract.
As the organisations Health & Safety Champion in the West, this will include regional travel across Cornwall, Devon, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire
As one of the organisations Health & Safety Leads, you will play an essential role in ensuring safe working environments across the organisation’s properties and services.
Reporting directly to the Head of Health, Safety and Risk, you will oversee health and fire safety management, conduct audits and risk assessments, and provide expert advice to support compliance with regulations and organisational policies.
Duties will include:
* Conducting Type 1 and Type 2 Fire Risk Assessments in specialised housing and homes.
* Overseeing health and safety notifications, risk assessments, and incident management
* Investigating accidents and incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and preventative actions are implemented.
* Ensuring compliance with RIDDOR reporting and regulatory frameworks.
* Monitoring and managing fire safety risks, following up on remedial actions, and liaising with regulatory bodies.
* Providing expert advice to managers, supporting them in achieving compliance
* Conducting audits, inspections, and assessments to maintain high safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (TechIOSH desirable).
* Minimum 2 years of experience conducting Type 1 and Type 2 Fire Risk Assessments.
* A recognised Level 3 Fire Safety/Fire Risk Assessment qualification.
* Working knowledge of health and fire safety regulations, particularly in a care setting.
* Experience in auditing, safety inspections, and risk management systems.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and create reports.
* Experience of working for a Housing or Care organisation would be advantageous
