Payroll Manager - Full Time Permanent Role

Location - Warrington - WA1 - Hybrid Role 3 days office based

Role Description
Reporting directly to the Head of Payroll & Pensions responsible for accuracy of the payroll services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the daily operation of multiple Parasol payroll and pension processes.
* Responsible for ensuring all payrolls are accurate and executed within agreed service levels.
* Responsible for the accurate processing of pension contributions.
* Ownership of implementing, maintaining and auditing controls to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and errors are mitigated in the payroll function including completing the monthly audits.
* Ownership of monthly reconciliations.
* Keeping up to date with technical and legislative developments in payroll or impacting payroll.
* Implement new procedures to ensure continuous improvement within the department.
* Support and coach team members with any identified training needs.
* Focus on motivational activities with the team and rest of the business.
* Lead the team using a performance development plan.
* Support all team members regarding query escalation and resolution.
* To improve service delivery for employees and finance.
* Support the Head of Payroll & Pensions with HMRC relationship and associated queries and appeals.
* Support the Head of Payroll & Pensions with tax year end tasks/project for payroll
* Support the Head of Payroll & Pensions with project-based work relating to the wider Group that requires technical payroll input.
* Ad-Hoc duties/projects as required.
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Knowledge of Umbrella, CIS, PEO and PAYE/Payroll Bureau payroll models (signification experience in at least one of these payroll models)
* Knowledge of Payroll legislation and ability to interpret and develop as policy to inform service.
* Experience of leading a team
* Exceptional communication skills
* Proven ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
* Flexible and logical approach to payroll related issues and processing
Desirable:
* CIPP qualified or Level 5 equivalent
* Experience of change management and implementing new payroll systems
