About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Administrator to join our Enabling Functions team to work in Newcastle upon Tyne.
This role is available on a Part Time or Full Time basis:
1. Part Time: Minimum of 22.5 hours per week, this can be split across 3/4/5 days.
2. Full Time: 37.5 hours per week, 5 x 7.5hour shifts.
Role Purpose:
3. A Procurement Administrator will support the team, to provide a range of general administrative duties to the Group Procurement & Supply Chain Reporting Team;
4. The role sits in Group Procurement and will work closely with their team members but must engage and support all business units and enabling functions, working with project teams and SMEs across the group. The Procurement Administrator is responsible for supporting functional strategy and priorities.
What you'll be doing
As a Procurement Administrator you will:
5. Undertake a full range of administrative duties to ensure an efficient service is delivered to allocated team;
6. Screen incoming mail, telephone calls and emails on behalf of team and manage all appropriate correspondence;
7. Be fully conversant in MS Office to produce a range of spreadsheets, documents and presentations, as required;
8. Perform ad hoc confidential work, as required;
9. Maintain accurate and electronic filing systems, including archiving;

11. Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
Who we're looking for
Personal Qualities and Experience:
12. Have achieved an A-C grade in Maths, English and IT at GCSE or the equivalent;
13. Able to effectively manage time and deliver against deadlines, setting own goals and being proactive in seeking and driving improvements;
14. Organised and proactive Process Improvement mind-set;
15. Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills;
16. Positive and proactive approach to all aspects of work;
17. Have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of people in the organisation;
18. Excellent team player, able to work as part of different size teams but also independently where required;
19. Excellent skills in excel in able to analyse data and suggest improvements;
20. Flexible in approach to work, recognising patterns of work and being able to proactively support full department;
21. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with data inputting and reporting.
