Job title: Programme Manager - Senior Quality Control Inspector
Location: Leeds
Salary: £65,000‑£75,000
The Programme Manager will lead the Quality Control Services team across the Northern region, overseeing delivery of Clerk of Works, NEC Supervisor, Warranty Inspection, and wider specialist inspection services. This role combines strong technical leadership with client management, business development and financial accountability. The Programme Manager is responsible for developing team capability, expanding service lines and driving high‑quality, commercially successful programme performance.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Quality Control Inspector team, fostering a collaborative culture that drives high standards and continuous improvement across all service lines.
* Oversee regional project delivery, ensuring consistent quality, early identification of risks, and implementation of corrective actions through robust resource planning and workload allocation.
* Act as the primary client contact in the North West, building trusted relationships, managing escalations, and maintaining service satisfaction aligned with client expectations.
* Drive business growth by identifying and securing new opportunities, supporting fee proposals, tenders and sector engagement, and taking responsibility for programme financial performance.
* Champion innovation and continuous improvement in inspection methodologies, promoting new and emerging quality control services and contributing to service line development.
* Maintain senior technical competence, leading inspections and delivering complex projects, providing expert input on construction issues and ensuring compliance with internal standards.
* Ensure consistent reporting, defect management and adherence to inspection standards, conducting peer reviews and representing the service in technical meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Chartered with CIOB or ICWCI, with deep technical understanding of construction and quality control.
* NEC Supervisor accreditation (desirable).
* Extensive construction experience across multiple stages of delivery.
* Proven experience managing Clerk of Works / Quality Control teams.
* Strong understanding of technical standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing technical teams.
* Demonstrable track record of developing people and raising technical standards.
* Ability to manage clients effectively and build long‑term partnerships.
* Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and programme performance.
* Excellent communication, organisational and relationship‑building skills.
* Ability to balance operational delivery with business development and service growth.
