Locally Employed Doctor (ST3+ Anaesthetics - Digital Fellow)
Fixed term for up to 12 months.
We have positions available in York and Scarborough.
We invite applications for our inaugural Digital Critical Care Fellowship—a unique opportunity to integrate digital health technologies, data analytics, and artificial intelligence into Intensive Care Medicine (ICM). This 12-month fellowship combines advanced clinical training with hands-on experience in digital transformation. It is suitable as a standalone fellowship or as an Out of Programme Experience (OOPE).
Main Duties of the Job
This fellowship is aimed at trainees in adult ICM or anaesthesia who wish to develop expertise in applying digital health solutions in clinical practice. Key areas include:
·Digital Transformation: Leading projects to optimise workflows and improve outcomes using digital tools.
·Clinical Information Systems (CIS): Customising and enhancing workflows within our CIS, MetaVision.
·User-Centred Design: Ensuring digital solutions meet real-world clinical needs.
·Data Analytics: Training in handling and analysing large datasets.
·AI Research: Opportunities to participate in AI-driven research in anaesthesia and critical care.
Fellows will also undertake clinical duties at senior resident level in critical care at York Hospital, gaining Stage 2 and 3 ICM competencies.

·Structured mentorship for FRCA and FFICM exams, with a strong track record of success
·Opportunities to pursue further education, including digital health and transformation courses (subject to discussion)
·Support for applications to the national l , including guidance on digital innovation and implementation
·Exposure to digital transformation initiatives, with opportunities to gain experience in programming, data analysis, and database manipulation (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
