About the team:
St Philips Marsh Engineering DEM team has responsibilities for the safety and reliability of the rolling stock, the depot assets and the safety of the people that work at St Philips Marsh.
The DEM team are a vital link between Engineering HQ and production colleagues. Ensuring we keep colleagues and customers safe and compliant in accordance with various processes, procedures and legislative requirements.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within this team as a DEM Engineering systems support manager. As part of this team you will be responsible for managing the storage of technical records, updating various systems with relevant information (R2, IFMS, warranty portals etc). Liaising with suppliers and various stakeholders. The successful applicant will need an engineering background. An understanding of creating a data base is also desirable. You will also be responsible for managing site inductions and supporting the depot management team with various activities. As an MS grade you will be required to work independently and mange process and procedures..
About the job:
The DEM team are responsible for supporting the depot with compliance issues. These include controlling and managing documentation, information, training, competence assessment, and technical support to the Production team whilst promoting a safety culture.
Your role will include the management of T&RS documentation and also support the depot from transitioning from R2 to the use a new Integrated Fleet Management System (IFMS). You will also be responsible for contractor management and Environmental management. There will also be an opportunity to learn new skills for candidates interested in self development.
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Working with the DEM team to:
* Manage transition between R2 and IFMS.
* Storage of documentation
* Carry out depot inductions.
* Support Warranty Engineer with manging the warranty process and information.
* Liaise with stakeholder as required.
* Support the Depot Management team.
You'll need to be:
* Technically minded with an appreciation of T&RS
* Dedicated to a safe, efficient working environment.
* Flexible and delivery focused.
* Confident using IT.
* Self-directed to engage with colleagues to understand, and to then resolve issues.
As a minimum you'll need to have:
* An understanding the importance of following processes.
* Familiar with various IT systems, Microsoft Excel, word, Power Bi would be desirable.
* An Independent learner with an enthusiasm for development.
* Technical experience would also be advantageous.
* knowledge of traction and rolling stock desirable.
About the location
St Philips Marsh Depot is a large site with good transport links. We are 15mins walk from Bristol Temple Meads Railway station.
Working Pattern:
This is a permanent position and will require working Monday to Friday core business hours. There may also be opportunities to attend off site meetings.
