Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Durham Secondary Schools Long-Term Temporary September 2026
Teaching Personnel is recruiting qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistants for long-term temporary positions across secondary schools in Durham, with a September 2026 start. These roles are open to qualified candidates only — if you hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Education, or a related discipline, and you have the classroom experience to match, we'd like to hear from you.
Working as part of established support teams across a range of Durham secondary schools, you'll be providing high quality, informed support to students who need it most. Level 3 qualified TAs bring a depth of understanding to the role that makes a tangible difference — to students, to teachers, and to the wider team — and the schools Teaching Personnel works with recognise and value that.
What you'll be doing:
* Providing targeted support to students across KS3 and KS4 with a range of additional needs
* Delivering structured 1:1 and small group interventions
* Supporting teachers with planning, differentiation, and classroom management
* Contributing to the development and review of individual support plans
* Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities at all times
To be considered:
* Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Education, or equivalent — essential
* Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting
* Strong understanding of SEND and how to support diverse learners
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
