Curriculum Lead – Electrical Installations
Required Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will possess strong industry knowledge alongside proven experience within Further Education or training environments and will be able to lead and develop high-quality Electrical Installation provision for 16–19 learners, apprentices, and adult students.
The ideal candidate will:
Hold a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or a related discipline
Hold current 17th and/or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualifications, including Inspection & Testing
Have substantial industry experience within Electrical Installation and maintain up-to-date sector knowledge and current industry standards
Hold a recognised teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent), or be willing to work towards one
Have experience delivering Electrical Installation programmes across Level 1–3, including practical workshop and classroom-based theory sessions
Demonstrate the ability to lead curriculum delivery, support learner achievement, and drive high standards across the department
Be highly organised, with the ability to effectively manage a varied workload and competing priorities
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, employers, and external stakeholders
Have experience supporting quality assurance processes, learner progress monitoring, and curriculum development
Be committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusive teaching practicesDesirable Experience
Experience managing or leading Electrical Installation provision within Further Education
Apprenticeship and/or T Level delivery experience
IQA/Internal Verification experience
Experience working with awarding bodies such as City & Guilds or EAL
Experience supporting employer engagement and work placement activityMain Duties and Responsibilities
To teach Electrical Installation and related units across the full range of the Centre’s provision
To contribute to the development and implementation of new T Levels
To teach other specialist subjects for which you are qualified and which are appropriate to the needs of the curriculum area
To engage in core teaching duties including lesson preparation, marking, monitoring learner progress, preparing reports, setting and marking examination papers, and developing flexible learning materials
To support learner achievement, retention, attendance, and progression through effective teaching and pastoral support
To maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality assurance and self-assessment processes
To work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and external stakeholders to ensure curriculum delivery remains current and industry relevant
To contribute to curriculum planning, course development, and continuous improvement activities within the department
To ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, equality, and awarding body requirements
