An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Emergency Department as a Housekeeper. The hours are 37.5 hours worked per week.
Starlight Unit provides care for a large number of paediatric patients and is a busy, demanding and exciting service. As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will be required to provide skilled, flexible support to the Nursing staff across all duties as prescribed by trained staff, in accordance with Trust policies and Guidelines. You will be required to give comprehensive and clinical support to staff in delivering high standards of patient care.
As a Housekeeper, you support the senior nursing team by ensuring the ward is clean, safe, comfortable, and conducive to patient care, which is beneficial for both patients and their visitors. This is a busy, physically active role that requires excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and IT skills. Main duties of the job
* You will assist in catering for patients, ensuring that their individual nutritional needs are met.
* Liaise with other departments as appropriate.
* Support ward accreditation and audit.
* Ensure all defects are logged via the appropriate Help Desk. Report, record, and sign off once completed.
* Ensure any essential and non-medical equipment is in a clean condition and available for use.
* Ordering of equipment and uniforms.
* Undertaking audits such as room temperature recording and fridge temperature recordings on a daily basis.
Person specification
Education/Qualifications
* General Education Completed Educated to a GCSE level or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience
* Stock Management.
* Basic Computer Skills.
* Experience of working in an acute healthcare/hospital setting, undertaking a range of clinical commitments.
Skills
* Good written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative but recognise limitations and seek advice when required.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
* Committed to delivering high standards of care and work.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Able to relate confidently and professionally with members of the public and staff.
