Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM)? Join ALTEN UK and work on advanced heat exchanger technology for next-generation aircraft propulsion. You'll play a key role in optimizing complex metal assemblies, electric motor integration, and advanced welding processes—driving innovation in aerospace thermal management solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop & optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace heat exchangers
* Apply GD&T principles for precision component design & assembly
* Utilize Siemens NX for 3D modeling, design validation & DFM analysis
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on fabrication, machining & welding
* Support TAM (Tooling, Assembly & Manufacturing) activities to enhance production efficiency
* Ensure designs meet stringent aerospace standards for safety & performance
Qualifications
Key Skills & Experience:
* 5+ years in Mechanical Design / DFM / Manufacturing Engineering
* Expertise in GD&T and Siemens NX for component & assembly design
* Strong knowledge of thermal systems, heat exchanger fabrication & precision welding
* Experience with bulky metal structures, electric motor integration & machining processes
* Background in aerospace, defence, or high-precision manufacturing preferred
