On-site Team Leader – Mechanical Fitting
Location: Kidderminster + UK-wide Site Travel
Hours: Mon–Fri 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Salary: From £37,000 per year + Overtime + Benefits
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
Are you a hands-on leader with a background in mechanical fitting, lining systems, or industrial site work? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, UK-based engineering company working on high-impact industrial projects across the country. This is a frontline leadership role with career progression built in.
The Role
As an On-site Team Leader, you’ll supervise small teams on live industrial sites, ensuring installations are delivered safely, to specification, and on time. You’ll remain hands-on, supporting the team with fitting, lining (rubber, ceramic, or steel), and fabrication tasks — while also acting as the key site contact. When not on site, you’ll assist with operations in the Kidderminster-based workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and work with small teams on mechanical site installations
Supervise fitting, lining, and fabrication work
Conduct daily briefs and ensure team compliance with site targets and safety
Monitor PPE, equipment, and site documentation
Work closely with the Production and Project Managers to coordinate resources
Promote a safety-first culture and represent the brand to clients
Identify any non-conforming materials or work and report accordingly
Support team development and training
Requirements:
Hands-on mechanical fitting or site experience (shutdowns, industrial installs, etc.)
Site leadership or team lead experience
Experience with wear linings, fitting, or steel fabrication
Valid Safety Passport (ECITB or equivalent)
First Aid trained
Able to read engineering drawings
Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
Certifications: Slinger/Signaller, Lift Supervisor, MEWP, Telehandler
Confined space training
Welding or fabrication background
Supervisor experience in site services or off-site manufacture
