Our client is a fast-growing EdTech company that helps organizations and educators create more inclusive learning and workplace experiences through innovative assistive tools and accessibility solutions. Their products are trusted by millions worldwide to empower diverse minds, enhance engagement, and make communication more accessible for all.
As they expand at a remarkable pace, they are seeking an exceptional Lead Software Architect to join their journey and contribute to their mission.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the architecture and design of complex, distributed .NET-based cloud systems, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with product and business goals.
* Manage and mentor a small team of 2–4 architects, fostering collaboration, technical growth, and a high standard of engineering excellence.
* Collaborate closely with senior Engineering, Product, and Design leaders to shape and execute technical strategy, leveraging modern cloud services and best practices.
* Stay hands-on with development, contributing to prototyping, and key architectural decisions.
* Continuously evaluate and introduce new technologies and frameworks while promoting a positive, adaptable, and product-focused engineering culture.
Requirements:
* Experience leading and mentoring teams while staying hands-on (~70% IC / 30% leadership). Whilst you won't be hands on in the same way an SWE would be, a love for coding is required.
* 15+ YoE with strong hands-on full stack skills across React, Angular, and .NET, and solid experience with AWS and Azure.
* Proven ability to set and drive technical strategy across a mix of products - desktop, web, mobile, and browser extensions.
* Deep understanding of domain modelling, monolith to microservices transformations, and distributed systems, with experience bringing multiple systems together under a clear technical vision.
* Strong product and ownership mindset, working closely with product, design, infrastructure, and security to align technical direction with business goals.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to influence across a 150+ engineering team and build a culture of openness and teamwork.
