We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chatham, starting as soon as possible. As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children across the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will assist with delivering engaging lessons, supporting children individually and in small groups, and helping create a positive, structured learning environment that encourages independence, curiosity, and confidence. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality EYFS lessons and activities Assist children in developing social, emotional, and academic skills Provide individual and small group support where needed Promote early communication, language, literacy, and numeracy skills Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence Observe and contribute to assessments of children’s progress Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment Support daily routines, transitions, and personal care as required Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and staff Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have experience working in an EYFS or early years setting Be patient, caring, and enthusiastic Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills Be proactive, reliable, and adaptable Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and child wellbeing The school is located in Chatham, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
