What does the role involve?
As part of our Technical Control team, you'll be joining a close-knit sub-team of around seven colleagues, responsible for authorising maintenance across our entire HGV fleet. You'll review and approve (or challenge) proposed maintenance work through the 1Link system, liaising with suppliers and repairers to keep costs under control and downtime to a minimum — helping our customers get their vehicles back on the road faster.
Some of your key duties will include:
* Authorising maintenance and repairs up to agreed spend levels
* Liaising with suppliers, internal teams, and customers to ensure work is completed efficiently
* Handling incoming calls and mailbox queries, providing updates and resolving issues promptly
* Analysing cost trends and supporting initiatives to improve whole-life vehicle costs
What are we looking for?
You'll bring strong technical knowledge of HGVs, ideally backed by a Level 3 City & Guilds (or equivalent) qualification. You might already be in a desk-based role, or you could be ready to step away from the workshop and put your skills to use in a different way — reducing costs, improving efficiency, and supporting our customers.
Also, we're looking for the following:
* Comfortable using IT systems (1Link knowledge a bonus)
* Organised and able to manage multiple job authorisations efficiently
* An excellent communicator who enjoys dealing with suppliers and customers
