We're partnering with a leading UK engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit experienced Steel Welders for long-term opportunities on complex, high-value projects. Working within a skilled production environment, you'll be responsible for carrying out a range of welding and fabrication activities across the full project lifecycle, contributing to the delivery of high-quality products while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Perform welding, fabrication and assembly activities in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards.
Work safely and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
Deliver work to schedule while maintaining a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
Inspect and verify completed work against required standards and tolerances.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Maintain accurate records and adhere to operational procedures and work instructions.
Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors and stakeholders to achieve production objectives.
Take ownership of work produced and proactively resolve manufacturing issues where required.
Skills & Experience
Time-served Welder with a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
Experience working with a variety of welding processes, materials and fabrication techniques.
Ability to read and follow welding procedures, engineering drawings and work instructions.
Competent in material preparation, alignment, forming and finishing activities.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience carrying out self-inspection and quality checks.
Technical Experience
Experience in some or all of the following would be advantageous:
Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
MAG/MIG Welding
TIG Welding (manual, mechanised and orbital)
Submerged Arc Welding (SAW)
Robotic welding systems
Grinding and finishing operations
Welding fume management and safe working practices
Pre-heating and weld preparation
Mirror welding techniques
Restricted access and confined space working
Qualifications
Completed Engineering Modern Apprenticeship (or equivalent recognised trade qualification).
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, SVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC, EAL or equivalent.
Health & Safety certifications including COSHH Awareness, Working at Height or similar
