A vacancy has arisen for a Squadron Leader (People Ops – Pers (Trg)) to serve as SO2 Physical Training Policy (Phys Trg Pol) A at RAF High Wycombe on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date being not before 02 June 2026 (or later, subject to candidate status). Job Description. SO2 Phys Trg Pol is a specialist physical training post, within 22 Group, that directly supports and enables the delivery of physical training output across the RAF. Supervising one subordinate, SO2 Phys Trg Pol is part of the Ground Training Team and works closely with Human Performance, Health, Adventure Training, SERE and Training Policy staffs within Air Command. The main output is offering specialist physical training policy advice to RAF units, Physical Education Flts, the RAF’s School of Physical Training, Phase 1 training establishments and Tri-Service equivalents. The role is required to undertake physical training projects, answer requests for information and liaise with Air Health, Air Legal, Air D&I, Air Finance, Air Corporate Governance and Air Media & Comms on a regular basis. SO2 Phys Trg Pol ensures physical training policy coherence across Air and Defence, provides direction and guidance on all physical training matters, reviews and maintains physical training publications and leaflets, acts as the initial point of contact for physical training queries, attends specialist meetings and communicates policy change. Additionally, the post provides specialist advice on physical training safety, sickle cell trait, climatic injury prevention and physical training risk management. The job is based at RAF High Wycombe, and you should expect to be in the office at least 3 days a week with the remaining time working from home or at a collaborative working area.
