Do you have experience of working with insurance claims, and/or highways and/or risk management, and would be interested in a temporary position? We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our dedicated team, supporting the delivery of our insurance and risk management services. This is an excellent opportunity to provide administrative support to the Corporate Insurance, highways and risk functions. This vacancy is temporary to cover a period of maternity until approximately March 2027 or until the return of the substantive postholder from maternity leave, whichever is sooner. WHAT IS INVOLVED? The main duties of the post holder will be focus on providing a customer focused approach. You will engage with claimants, solicitors, and service area staff, providing advice and guidance, to ensure effective claims handling. You will also support the Corporate Insurance Team in the delivery of insurance services. In addition, the post holder will also provide administrative support to the Risk and Governance Officer in the maintenance of robust systems and processes in relation to the risk management and corporate governance arrangements which are in place across the council. You will need 4 GCSEs graded A-C including English and Maths or equivalent and experience of working with a computerised data input and reporting systems. You should also have a proven track record of relevant insurance experience and experience of analysing and reporting on claims information. The training requirements of the role i.e commitment to study for Insurance qualification, such as the Certificate in Insurance or Risk Management qualification or equivalent would only apply to permanent employees.
