Job Overview
Apex Resources Limited is seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 Driver to join our client's logistics team in Livingston on temp to perm basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across the UK, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and compliance. Experience with curtainsiders and tail lifts is highly desirable, along with a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Contract rate £15 per hour

39 contracted hours per week

You'll be driving brand new 18T truck
*
Please note that some overnight stay will be required and you will be paid night-out allowance (£26/night).
Responsibilities
*
Operate curtainsider truck and tail lift in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
*
Some manual handling involved
*
Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel usage
*
Load, secure, and unload cargo safely, ensuring the integrity of goods during transit
*
Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
*
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
*
Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery times, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit
*
Adhere strictly to health and safety standards at all times during operations
*
Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely and professional deliveries
*
Ability to lift heavy items safely
Experience
*
Proven experience as Class 2 Driver, at least 6 months
*
Demonstrable knowledge of driving regulations within the UK and safe driving practices
*
Prior experience with delivery routes, including urban and rural areas
*
Familiarity with loading and securing cargo on flatbed trucks is advantageous
*
Valid driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles (category C or above), DCPC and tacho card
*
Experience in handling delivery documentation and basic vehicle maintenance checks
