The following opportunities have arisen for candidates with the appropriate skills, experience and commitment to work in the shared Revenues Service. You may be required on occasion to work at sites across the Cannock Chase District and Stafford Borough areas. The main duties of the posts will be to assist with general administrative and clerical duties as part of a team dealing with the billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax. This will involve dealing with members of the public in person, by telephone and in correspondence, so the successful candidates will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidates must have the ability to assimilate complex and changing legislation and need to be able to use a computer to input and retrieve data. You also need to be able to work accurately and to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines. You should hold GCSE’s at Grade C or above in Mathematics and English or have equivalent vocational or academic experience. You must also be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative and be willing to undertake training and development to gain detailed knowledge of Council Tax. Previous experience of working in a customer based or financial organisation is essential for this position. Experience of working in Local Authority Revenues and Benefits administration and experience of working with Civica or Council Tax software would be advantageous.
