Our client, a leading organisation in the highways sector, is currently seeking an Assistant Engineer to join their dynamic team in a permanent capacity. This role is pivotal in undertaking and developing engineering design solutions for traffic, infrastructure, and highway projects.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves applying proven engineering techniques and procedures to develop appropriate solutions to client problems, including:
With support from the Highways Lead, undertaking design elements such as road geometry, drainage, pavement, road restraint systems, traffic signs, and road markings.
Producing design outputs such as drawings, specifications, schedules, reports, and calculations to achieve the optimal solution for the project.
Collaborating closely with your team and other design disciplines, with an appreciation of their roles.
Ensuring that solutions meet or exceed client needs and expectations.
Ensuring all work aligns with the company's IMS and current health and safety legislation requirements.
You will take ownership and responsibility for the quality of work you produce. You will be supported by senior colleagues and be committed to your professional development through in-house training opportunities and engaging with professional institution activities.
Job Requirements:
A relevant degree and working towards achieving a professional qualification.
Experience in delivering elements of highway projects or work packages on larger multi-disciplinary projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and a sound understanding of its integration with the BIM environment.
A desire to learn, progress, and challenge yourself.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
