We have an exciting opportunity to join The Walton Centre as a Data Quality Assistant

Main duties of the job
Play an active role in ensuring data is collected in an accurate, timely, consistent way and that complete information is recorded within our systems. Undertake audits, to monitor and ensure the quality of patient demographic and hospital activity data. Work with Services as required and the wider information team to identify areas of non-compliance on patient-based information system to resolve these to ensure compliance with national standards with the staff responsible.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
To help identify any Data Quality issues in order to understand the problem and support solutions that work not just for clinical purposes but to ensure that the Service are able to be reported and billed correctly.
Monitor and ensure the accuracy and quality of data on elective admissions, outpatient attendances, diagnostics, inpatients and outpatient waiting lists for the Trust.
Investigate data quality issues, understand reasons for these and make recommendations to rectify.
Regularly present data quality information for each specialty highlighting any issues, areas of concern or share good practice
Promote strong data quality across the organisation by working closely with services to implement best practice and reduce opportunity for errors or poor recording
Conduct route cause analysis where data quality issues exist and work with data owners to resolve issues
Monitor the Data Quality Maturity Index and develop solutions to improve data completeness and accuracy
Monitor data quality reports produced by the Department of Health and the Secondary Uses Service
Have a working knowledge of information standards and definitions as described in the NHS Data Manual and Dictionary. Also to liaise with the appropriate NHS Information Authority to ensure that the data held on Trust systems and reports produced using this data adheres to central guidance
Represent Data Quality in meetings as required
Provide data quality feedback to managers within services and offer remedial training on a regular basis
Work with Information staff to provide data quality performance indicators for managers and sub committees of the Board
Assist with the requirements of the Data Security & Protection Toolkit for Data Quality sections.
Support Information staff in the development and implementation of future information requirements, particularly in relation to those requirements, regarding Data Quality
To be responsible for creating a proactive user support environment, with an emphasis on effective delivery and the creation of a culture based on excellent customer service
To assist in the development and implementation of technological solutions to support clinicians in delivering patient care and meeting national data collection requirements where needed, ensuring all systems have undergone a process of testing and acceptance before live commissioning
Support the organisation through the provision of information analysis provided through information skills.
Respond quickly and efficiently to ad hoc information requests, ensuring work produced meets users needs and expectations and is fully reconcilable to all information sources
Provide advice and support for data quality related questions
Ensure information outputs are accurate, fit for purpose, delivered to time and follow the agreed development methodology with full written documentation
Promote use of the organisations single point of access for Data and Information and best practice for data use.
