Overview
A growing engineering business is looking for a Trainee Setter to join its production team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills in precision manufacturing while working with advanced machinery and contributing to a supportive, team-driven environment.
Responsibilities
* Set and operate CNC presses to support efficient production.
* Deputise for the shift team leader when required.
* Produce quality components in line with output targets.
* Carry out checks to ensure compliance with quality procedures.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety.
* Contribute to a culture of continual improvement by generating and sharing ideas.
* Work collaboratively as part of a small, autonomous team.
* Support the development and training of colleagues when needed.
Shift pattern
Rotating shifts – one week 6am-2pm, the following week 2pm-10pm.
The Candidate
* Mechanical or manufacturing background.
* Numerate and literate, with the ability to read technical drawings.
* Skilled in using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers).
* Confident with basic PC use.
* Forklift (counterbalance) experience desirable but not essential.
Salary & Benefits
£22,000 - £32,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications).
Up to 30% performance-related and company bonus
