Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA):
Smile Education is working in partnership with a welcoming school based in Tamworth, who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HLTA who is passionate about supporting teaching and learning and making a positive impact on pupils’ progress.
As a HLTA, you will work closely with teaching staff to support learning across the classroom and may be required to deliver pre-planned lessons, provide targeted interventions, and support pupils across a range of abilities. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Role Overview:
Support teaching and learning across the classroom
Deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher absence when required
Provide small-group and one-to-one interventions
Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND where appropriate
Maintain positive behaviour and support pupil engagementThe ideal candidate will have:
A recognised HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience)
Previous experience working in a primary or secondary school setting
Confidence leading learning activities and covering lessons when required
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and developmentAssignment Details:
