Please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any time should it be filled via the internal redeployment process Job Overview PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY ANEURIN BEVAN UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD To plan, organise, attend and facilitate the MDT To be responsible for the preparation and distribution of MDT patient cases for discussion requiring the collection of all relevant documentation e.g., radiology reports, pathology reports and treatment summaries. To monitor cancer patients through their Single Cancer Pathway (SCP), ensuring all Cancer Standards and timescales are adhered to. Highlight any problems to the appropriate MDT and management team members. To ensure all recorded information is accurate, up to date and validated according to departmental policy, in order to coordinate the Cancer MDT’s and enable production of clear, concise and meaningful reports for submission to clinicians, managers and WAG. To work closely with the tumour site lead with clinical audit data, to ensure timely and accurate submission for National Audit. Main duties of the job To communicate effectively within the department, contributing ideas for improvement and development. To liaise effectively with Lead Clinicians, Clinicians & other non-clinical professionals in the functional support of the MDT. To communicate complex and sensitive cancer patient information with the Lead Clinicians, Clinicians & other non-clinical professionals and external bodies (Other NHS Health Boards, Private Clinical Organizations & the NHS Executive). Work closely with Tracking/Validation Officers to ensure the progress of the patient pathway is prospectively and proactively managed and that any concerns are communicated to the relevant personnel in a timely manner in line with the Cancer Standards targets using tact and diplomacy. Communicate with all members of the MDT to ensure timely and accurate transfer of sensitive and complex information.
