OverviewA well-established logistics organisation is seeking a Customer Service & Compliance Supervisor to join their operations in Altham. This is a flexible, cross-functional role that will support multiple departments, ensuring high standards of customer service delivery alongside strong compliance adherence.The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing customer experience, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting operational efficiency across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Oversee day-to-day customer service activities, ensuring a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism
- Act as an escalation point for complex customer queries and complaints
- Monitor service levels and implement improvements where required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
Compliance & Process Management
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular audits and checks to maintain compliance standards
- Support the implementation of new compliance processes and initiatives
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Cross-Departmental Support
- Work closely with operations, transport, and administrative teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Support process improvements across multiple departments
- Assist with internal reporting, tracking KPIs, and performance metrics
- Provide operational support during peak periods or where required
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide guidance and support to customer service staff
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members
- Promote a positive and collaborative working environment
- Lead by example in maintaining high performance standards
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a customer service or supervisory role, ideally within logistics or a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong understanding of compliance, processes, and regulatory standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple departments
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
