Role Overview:
We are seeking a Procurement Officer within Leidos Supply Ltd (LSL).
As a Procurement Officer, you will provide commercial support and advice to team members and stakeholders through contract management. You will ensure professional standards are maintained for all commercial work, aiming for cost-effective procurement and delivering benefits for Team Leidos under Logistic Commodities and Services (Transformation), following transfer from MOD in August 2015.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all commercial activities meet high standards, conform to EU Procurement Regulations and Leidos Policies, and are monitored for improvement to obtain best value for money.
2. Participate proactively in developing and implementing Category Strategies to meet LSL needs.
3. Draft and issue ITTs/ITNs, contracts, and manage the procurement process through to and beyond contract award.
4. Negotiate contract terms, conditions, and prices within delegated powers to achieve benefits.
5. Undertake contract and team administration as required.
6. Maintain professional standards and provide commercial support and advice to staff, stakeholders, and customers.
7. Manage contracts effectively by building strong relationships with contractors, customers, and colleagues.
8. Assist in setting targets for LSL and monitor achievement.
9. Ensure accurate and timely submission of Commercial MI.
10. Contribute to the development of LSL tools, processes, and procedures to support Transformation.
11. Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with EU and Commercial Procurement practices.
12. Mentor junior staff to support their growth.
13. Observe Good Distribution Practice (PGD) obligations and best practices.
Skills Required:
* Business, procurement, or contracting experience
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Teamwork ability
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* CIPS Level 4 or higher
* Knowledge of public sector contracting and EU Regulations
* Experience with MoD procurement processes
* Use of e-procurement tools
* Full Driving License for supplier visits
Clearance Requirements:
* BPSS Pre-screening required to start
