Would you like to train to be a qualified Early Years Practitioner?\n\nWe are recruiting a full time Modern Apprentice for a nursery in Bellshill.\n\nYou will undertake an apprenticeship in childcare where you can work and train in the nursery setting to become a qualified early years practitioner by completing the SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 7. \n\nMain Responsibilities:\nâ¢\tTo deliver a high standard of learning, development, and care for all children. \nâ¢\tTo be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Playroom Manager / Nursery Manager / Nursery Principal. \nâ¢\tTo complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship. \n\nDuties and responsibilities throughout your training period\n1.\tTo be a key person and update key children's learning journals weekly with planning, observations, and next steps. \n2.\tTo keep an accurate record of achievement file on your key children, identifying children's individual needs, abilities and progress, using these effectively for future planning.\n3.\tTo plan and organise activities and experiences which will support and extend children's learning in line with Pre-birth to Three Curriculum and the Curriculum for Excellence as well as NLC Expectations.\n4.\tTo maintain an up-to-date knowledge of child development and the early years sector enabling the nursery to maintain up to date practices for our children and their families.\n5.\tTo work in partnership with all our families both formally and informally.\n6.\tTo communicate and engage with children to support their speech and language development.\n7.\tTo be professional and communicate effectively with all working personnel both within the nursery and with other agencies and early years professionals.\n8.\tWork with parents of children with additional support needs to give full integration in the nursery.\n9.\tTo work with children, parents and carers to plan for and support key transitions.\n10.\tTo be involved in ALL out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, summer fayre, Christmas party, etc.\n11.\tTo be flexible within working practices of nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleaning of equipment etc.\n12.\tWork alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery's philosophy is fulfilled.\n13.\tTo follow all policies, procedures, risk assessments and Child Protection Policies, Health and Safety guidelines written within the nursery. And ensure up to date practices from CIS, HMIE and North Lanarkshire Council are in place.\n14.\tTo develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key worker.\n15.\tTo ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.\n16.\tTo be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold their standards at all times.\n17.\tTo develop your role within the nursery and always be professional when representing the nursery at meetings etc.\n18.\tTo undertake any other reasonable requests by the Management Team which are necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the nursery. â¢\tTo be trained in the duties and responsibilities to carry out the role of a qualified Early Years Practitioner.\n\nâ¢\tTo contribute to a high quality and caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally. Candidates must be enthusiastic and committed to delivering high quality childcare to all children. Candidates do not require to have any professional childcare experience however you must be able to show a passion for working with children.\nSuccessful candidates will be required to offer 2 satisfactory references and undergo PVG and SSSC registration.
