IT Trainer
Salary: £33,951 - £35,608
Location: Liverpool, on site
Contract: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week)
We are recruiting an IT Trainer to actively promote the use of technology across the organisation and provide assistance and support on new and existing systems.
The role is central to the design, delivery and management of formal and informal IT training. This includes classroom-based sessions, drop-ins and remote training, with a focus on new technologies and the IT and associated systems used by staff and students.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Delivering IT training in formal and informal settings, including remote sessions
2. Managing, developing and maintaining IT training courses for new and existing applications
3. Designing course materials such as manuals, hand-outs, e-learning content and exercises
4. Evaluating training effectiveness and maintaining records of learner development
5. Carrying out training needs analysis and skills gap assessments
6. Providing support and guidance on IT training-related enquiries
7. Participating in user group meetings to understand business and user needs to be delivered from both systems improvements and training
8. Assisting with the implementation and adoption of major IT systems and projects
9. Monitoring course feedback and making relevant improvements
10. Advising colleagues on the use of existing and new technologies
11. Manage and contribute towards medium and long term coordinated planning based on LSTM’s objectives to keep the organisation up to date with developments in AV and IT
This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic about IT training, continuous improvement and supporting staff and students to adopt technology effectively.
The successful candidate will have:
12. A recognised IT training qualification or previous experience in an IT training role
13. Evidence of up-to-date knowledge to keep abreast of changes within the computing and AV environment
14. Experience delivering IT training within a business IT and AV environment
15. Experience using and training Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook and Microsoft Teams
16. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
17. The ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt training accordingly
18. A flexible approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
