Field Service Engineer – UK Travel
This role, based in Peterborough, will have a mix of UK and overseas travel. You will provide on‑site mechanical and electrical support, upgrade work and customer training, while upholding health & safety standards and staying within budget and time constraints.
Responsibilities
* Provide hands‑on mechanical and electrical engineering field support for the full range of equipment.
* Handle all aspects of customer support, from general service visits and equipment refurbishments to rebuilds, upgrades, relocations and training.
* Promote lifetime support to customers and help secure new business opportunities.
* Technically support aftermarket activities in the office and work in the factory assembly department as required.
* Ensure that health & safety rules and best practice are always adhered to.
* Ensure that the correct tools and equipment are used for the job.
* Produce reports after each customer visit detailing work completed.
* Be prepared to travel from a few days to a few weeks at a time, depending on the customer and job required.
Qualifications
* Ideally a time‑served skilled electro‑mechanical engineer with ONC/HNC, or equivalent work experience.
* On‑site electrical and mechanical experience is required.
* Self‑motivated and able to work independently, yet capable of being part of a team.
* Customer‑focused with excellent communication skills and a track record of developing relationships.
* Good PC skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
* Willingness to travel on short notice to customer sites in the UK and overseas.
* Hold a valid driving licence.
* Knowledge of the existing product range is an advantage but not essential.
