This role is part of a targeted initiative to reduce the number of young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET). You’ll work closely with a pilot cohort of Year 9 and 10 students and their families, schools, and community stakeholders to improve engagement, raise aspirations, and build strong foundations for long-term success. About the Role As a NEET Coach, you’ll provide tailored 1:1 support, mentoring, and guidance to help young people navigate key transition points in their education journey. You’ll identify individual barriers to progression—whether academic, social, or personal—and work collaboratively with schools and services to implement practical interventions that make a lasting difference. The role includes: Supporting young people to develop clear post-16 aspirations. Delivering engaging sessions and mentoring focused on progress, behaviour, attendance, and personal development. Working with families and communities during and outside of term time. Coordinating with local services, employers, and schools to widen access to opportunities such as work experience or volunteering. Monitoring progress and outcomes to ensure each young person stays on track. What We’re Looking For Essential: A Level 3 qualification relevant to working with young people. At least 2 years’ experience supporting young people in education, youth work, or a related setting. A strong understanding of the challenges young people face in accessing education, employment, or training. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport quickly. Organisational skills and confidence in managing a caseload. Desirable: Experience working with young people who are NEET or at risk of disengagement. Familiarity with local support services and post-16 progression pathways. Why Join Us?
