WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY
The Software Product Owner plays an important role within the Agile software development team. While not a product manager in the traditional sense, the successful candidate will manage the backlog of requirements from all stakeholders and through planning, coordination, communication and facilitation take responsibility to deliver quality software providing maximum business value.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Gain a deep understanding of products and users to make effective decisions
2. Provide the product vision and direction to engineering stakeholders
3. Translate high level requirements into detailed user stories with acceptance criteria
4. Propose user interface mock-ups.
5. Manage and prioritise the product backlog
6. Liaise and negotiate with product management to integrate backlog with business objectives
7. Act as primary liaison between stakeholders and development team, to answer queries in a timely fashion
8. Work in an Agile development environment, planning iterations and releases to meet business objectives while effectively managing risk and scope and having a good understanding of the technical challenges.
9. Produce customer release notes.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
10. At least 3 years’ experience as a Product owner of complex systems
11. Experience working with agile methodologies in multi-team environment
12. Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle
13. Fluent in English, both written and verbal
14. Excellent communication and presentation skills
15. A computer software, engineering, or IT related degree
16. Experience working in critical software application environments (Safety Integrity Level x)
17. Experience working in critical software application environments with high level of conformance and compliance to regulatory and cybersecurity standards and documentation.
DESIRABLE:
18. Experience developing web and Embedded based applications (deployed within product and/or on cloud).
19. Experience using Behaviour driven development
20. Understanding of microservices architecture
21. Experience integrating with 3rd party systems
22. Experience using Jira and confluence
23. Experience working in a SCRUM environment
24. Certified Product Owner
