Job Overview
To play a central role within the Renal Transplant service, working in close liaison with the transplant surgeons and nursing team, along with colleagues, staff in other departments, GPs, patients and general public. To work well as part of a team whilst being able to use their own initiative to provide administrative support to the Patient Pathway Coordinator, to ensure effective high quality service is provided.
Main duties of the job
* To support the Patient Pathway Coordinator in working with the clinical / nursing team, ensuring that patients who are waiting for a kidney transplant receive appointments for investigative treatments, diagnostic procedures, assisting the transplant nurses with any other tasks required.
* Answering patient queries via telephone and email
* Booking clinical appointments using PAS systems (namely Careflow and Bluespier)
* Liaising with clinicians to action outcomes for patients on the pathway
* Ensuring timeliness of clinic bookings.
* Valuing constant and continuous communication within the immediate and wider team via email and in-person
* Provide compassionate care for patients in your communications with them
