The post is intended to be a concierge/buddy service, a go-between from resident and management.
A listening ear to pass on any concerns or queries, attending to any needs or issues that might arise on a day-to-day basis.
The Lifestyle Assistant needs to get to know each resident and their needs, ensuring residents settle into Tanglewood happily and have a positive experience.
Making residents feel at home and welcome, the Lifestyle Assistant plays a key role in supporting that transition.
Be aware of residents’ birthdays and inform the kitchen and entertainments team.
Introduce yourself, find out about the resident, their hobbies, interests and personalities. Get to know them and become friends.
Ensure your residents are comfortable and liaise with housekeeping, maintenance, care team leaders, catering, hairdressing, chiropody, and activities.
Ensure residents are aware of the activities programme and assist them in attending any activities they wish to join.
Help with correspondence, banking, shopping, and keeping in touch with family.
Facilitate personal shopping trips for residents and offer to take them out for coffee or walks.
Spend one-to-one time with residents, using the lifestyle budget to brighten someone’s day.
Plan trips and encourage residents to socialise together.
Identify specific personal activities and liaise with the activities team to arrange them.
Maintain a record of how you have assisted individual residents.
