Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time

Are you a passionate and experienced SEN professional looking for a leadership role in a supportive and inclusive school community? A well-resourced and welcoming school in Aylesbury is seeking a dedicated SENCO to join their team from September 2025.
This is a rewarding opportunity to shape and lead high-quality SEND provision, particularly for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). You\'ll work closely with staff, families, and external professionals to ensure every child receives the tailored support they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the school\'s SEND provision, ensuring effective support strategies and inclusive practice
* Coordinate and review EHCPs, working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external agencies
* Provide staff training and guidance, with a focus on supporting children with complex needs including PMLD
* Oversee assessment using tools such as P Levels, the Engagement Model, and other SEN-specific frameworks
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and professionals to promote holistic development
* Ensure safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing remain central to school life
* Support teaching and model outstanding SEN practice as required
* Contribute strategically to the ongoing development of SEND across the school
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Ideally, the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO), or willingness to work towards it
* Experience supporting pupils with PMLD or complex learning needs
* Deep understanding of SEND policy, legislation, and effective interventions
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Experience working within multi-agency teams
* A reflective, empathetic, and child-centred approach to inclusive education
