We have an exiting opportunity to join our engineering team at our Prepared Poultry site.
The Multi Skilled Engineer role will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions, and ensuring optimal performance of machinery and systems. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, working towards reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
* Proficient in mechanical and electrical engineering principles, with experience in maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting technical issues
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities to work collaboratively across different departments
* Understanding of health and safety protocols and the ability to follow regulatory compliance
* Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment following the 4on 4off shift pattern
* Relevant certifications or training in maintenance engineering or related disciplines are advantageous
* Previous experience in manufacturing or food production sectors is preferred but not mandatory
What we look for
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
* Experience in a similar role: Electrical engineer, electrician
* 2+ years previous experience of FMCG manufacturing – advantageous
* Ability to work well within a team
* Work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
* Strong level of attention to detail
The key responsibility's of the role are:
* To comply with relevant Engineering specifications, and Environmental, Health & Safety policies and current legislation.
* To assist with the implementation plan to deliver the strategy with clear accountabilities, milestones and targets, using best practice tools and techniques.
* Complete/task engineering workload in conjunction with the Engineering Manager and Operations colleagues.
* Facilitation of any staff members involved with operation of the plant has received the appropriate information and instruction as per the manufacturer’s guidance and advice.
* To drive improvements, by working with all departments, to reduce complaints and other non-conformances
* Ensure the company assets are maintained to achieve maximum efficiency.
* Undertake planned maintenance tasks as instructed to the relevant engineering and safety standards.
* Undertake remedial engineering works to equipment or site as instructed by the Engineering Manager.
* To ensure any risks of safety or failure of equipment or site are communicated to the Manager.
* To ensure plant and equipment downtime is kept to a minimum.
* To carry out and log planned maintenance schedule as per plan.
* To respond to breakdowns in a time efficient manner
* Any other responsibilities commensurate with the post. Any other reasonable requests made by the Senior Management
