3rd Line MSP Engineer - £45,000 Location: Birmingham (hybrid) Salary: £45,000 Are you an experienced 3rd Line Engineer with a passion for solving complex technical issues in a fast-paced Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment? We're looking for a skilled and motivated professional to join our growing team, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries. Key Responsibilities Provide 3rd line technical support for escalated incidents and service requests. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure. Manage, maintain, and optimise Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and related environments. Support firewall, VPN, and network security solutions (e.g. Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco). Implement new technologies, upgrades, and migrations for client systems. Work closely with 1st and 2nd line teams to ensure smooth escalation and knowledge sharing. Participate in project delivery, system documentation, and continual service improvement. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in a 3rd Line or Senior Infrastructure Engineer role within an MSP. Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP. Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Azure, Intune, and SharePoint. Solid understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, VPNs, routing, firewalls). Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and client-facing skills. Desirable Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware, or similar). Exposure to backup, DR, and monitoring tools (Veeam, Datto, SolarWinds, etc.).
