About the Role
A supportive and inclusive primary school in Sefton is seeking an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with a pupil who requires additional support. This is a full-time, long-term role starting after Easter, ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing, and committed to making a meaningful impact on a child's educational journey.You will provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access learning, regulate emotions, and develop confidence both academically and socially.Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Providing tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs
* Assisting the class teacher in implementing personalised learning strategies
* Supporting the pupil during lessons, transitions, and breaktimes
* Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting emotional well-being
* Helping to adapt resources to ensure accessibility
* Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals when needed
* Monitoring progress and contributing to support plans
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working 1:1 with children who have additional needs is essential.
* Qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificates are desirable.
* Understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive practice
* Patient, calm, and compassionate approach
* Ability to build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
